January 26 | Apply to Graduate on SSOL | All students must students must submit a graduation application. The application is found on Student Services Online (SSOL) under the Degree Application Status tab. Scroll to the bottom of the page and select the Apply for Degree or Certification button. Graduation applications should be submitted as soon as possible, and no later than January 26, 2024. "Submitted" status is confirmation that your application was processed. Your diploma will be printed under your legal full name. You can verify the presentation of your name on SSOL under Academic Profile. If you wish to make changes to the name that will display on your diploma, you may do so by writing to the Office of the Registrar at [email protected]. Prior to emailing, read about the documentation required for a name change. Students must enter a Diploma Address on SSOL in order to receive a diploma. Diplomas are mailed approximately four weeks after the degree conferral date. Please ensure the address you provide will be current for at least two months after graduation. Your diploma will be sent exclusively to the diploma address on file for you. |
February 24-29 | Grad Fair for Regalia | Regalia is mandatory for University Commencement and MBA Recognition. All academic attire, including the cap and gown, is ordered through the Columbia University Bookstore. For more information on academic attire, graduation announcements, class rings, and diploma frames, please contact the bookstore at [email protected] or 212-854-9724. From February 27th to February 29th at the Morningside University Bookstore (11 AM - 6 PM), the Book Store will host a Grad Fair to support students on the regalia process. |
February 26 | Singhvi Prize & Lear Award Nominations | The Student Government Executive Board is collecting nominations for administrators, staff, and faculty you would like to honor for their dedication and service to the MBA student body with the Singhvi Prize & Lear Award. More information regarding each award can be found on the nomination form. Please participate in the process by completing this nomination form by Monday, February 26th at 9 AM. |
March 4th | Online Regalia Purchases Begin | As a reminder, regalia is mandatory for University Commencement and MBA Recognition. All academic attire, including the cap and gown, is ordered through the Columbia University Bookstore. For more information on academic attire, graduation announcements, class rings, and diploma frames, please contact the bookstore at [email protected] or 212-854-9724. Online orders, to be shipped to the student, can be placed beginning on March 4th and ending on March 22nd. |
March 8th | Student Service Award Nomination | The Columbia Business School Student Service Award honors graduating full-time MBA students who have made outstanding contributions to the Columbia Business School Community. This award is voted on by full-time graduating students. Please participate in this process by completing this nomination form for your fellow students by Friday, March 8th at 9 AM. |
March 8th | Student Speaker Application | Each year a member of the graduating MBA class is selected by their peers to speak on a topic of their choice on behalf of the student body at the MBA Recognition Ceremony. This is the most prestigious and honored of all roles at Recognition. During the Recognition Ceremony, the student speaker will be provided no more than 8-10 minutes for their speech. March 15th | Theodora Rutherford Inclusion Award | The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Office is introducing a new award this year! The Theodora Rutherford Inclusion Award highlights students who have centered inclusiveness in their student experience at Columbia Business School. Selected students will have demonstrated a commitment to the values and experiences that were central to Theodora Fonteneau Rutherford, the School’s first Black graduate student. The application is open to Columbia Business School students (second-year MBA students, second-year EMBA students, graduating MS students, and PhD students who have completed their first year). Interested students can submit their application online now through Friday, March 15th. |

April 15th | MarchingOrder Registration Closes | A MarchingOrder registration reminder will be sent to all students in early March. Your MarchingOrder registration is due by April 15th. You will not be able to access your MarchingOrder account or make any changes after the deadline has passed. Please note: The name entered in the MarchingOrder form is the name that will be displayed and pronounced at the MBA Recognition Ceremony. Make sure to double check that it is the correct name, as we have run into issues with autofill, etc. in the past. |
May 10th | Deadline to request Waitlist Tickets | In addition to claiming five tickets, students can request additional tickets via the Wait List option. The Office of Student Affairs will begin reviewing requests on Monday, April 1st and will continue to review tickets on a rolling basis. The final day to request additional tickets will be Friday, May 10th at 12 PM. Please note, waitlist tickets are on a first-come, first-serve basis. We will do our best to accommodate as many wait list requests as possible, but not all waitlist tickets may be accommodated. |
